aFe has now combined the filtration power of their Pro-GUARD 7 air filters with their Stage 1 and Stage 2 Cold Air Intake Systems! To address the need for extra protection from dust and dirt with washable/reusable oil-impregnated cotton gauze filters, aFe developed a new filtration technology so revolutionary that we applied for and received a patent. This new filtration technology is aptly called Pro-GUARD 7. Five layers of progressively finer mesh medical grade cotton gauze with micro fibers that attract smaller and smaller particles as air passes through is combined with 2 layers of random-porosity non-woven synthetic polyester fabric. This 7 layer combination of cotton gauze and non-woven polyester is sandwiched between 2 layers of epoxy coated Aluminum wire mesh. Because of compression ignition of diesel engines, tolerance are much tighter than in a gasoline spark ignition engine. These tight tolerances require clean air and lots of it. Diesel engines require 7 times more air than a gasoline engine of equivalent size. The patented Pro-GUARD 7 filter media delivers more cool clean air needed for extended engine life, better fuel economy and additional power.

These intake kits from aFe give your vehicle the air it needs by replacing the restrictive factory intake system with a high flow conical air filter, and providing isolation from the hot engine air. There are two types of aFe intake kits: Stage One and Stage Two. Stage One kits replace the factory air box with a housing and conical filter assembly. Stage Two kits replace the entire intake tract all the way back to the Turbo or intake manifold, providing the ultimate level of fresh, clean, cool air to boost your performance.

aFe intake kits are also available in multiple styles: The CX (Classic) System, which is a closed system that completely seals when the hood is shut (Stage 1 and Stage 2); The Si (Sealed Intake) System, which is a fully sealed intake system that provides an unbelievably tight seal (Stage 2 only)); The EZ (Easy Install) System, which is similar to a Stage 1 CX System, but utilizes aluminum tubes (Stage 1 only); and finally the XP (Extreme Performance) System, only available as a Stage 2 type system, that includes a replacement battery box to further increase and direct airflow...aFe's ultimate system!!
