Programmers, Tuners & DownloadersProgrammers, Tuners & Downloaders plug into the OBD-II port in the cab of your vehicle. These devices download a program into your onboard computer and store the stock program within the handheld unit. All of these products only take a few minutes to tune your vehicle. With most of these devices, you simply unplug after downloading and put it away. However, some of the more advanced ones can stay hooked up to monitor your vehicle's parameters and allow for on-the-fly adjustability. | Performance ModulesPerformance Modules are installed and mounted under the hood of your vehicle. They are plugged in-line between various engine sensors and your onboard computer. This way the module can "intercept" the data before it reaches the ECM, allowing it to analyze the data, determine the best ignition timing, air/fuel ratio, etc.; and send commands to the computer that optimize your vehicle's performance. These commands are based on real-time data, since the module is reading all current conditions. Modules typically take 30 minutes to install. | Performance MonitorsMonitors and Gauges collect real-time data from your vehicle and display it in an easy-to-view manner to the driver. Most monitors work in conjunction with a programmer or module and also provide on-the-fly adjustability for those devices. Most digital gauges will work as stand-alone devices or will work with a programmer or module, but will not provide the adjustability that a monitor allows. |
Speedometer CalibratorsSpeedometer Calibrators allow you to adjust your speedometer and odometer back to normal parameters after a tire size change or rear gear ratio change. There are two types of speedo calibrators: The In-line style is installed behind the instrument cluster and allows for unlimited tire size changes. The OBD II style simply plugs into the connector under your dash and allows you to make the changes through that connection, this style has pre-set parameters for tire and gear size changes, but will also allow you to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's). | Performance ChipsPerformance Chips are typically used with the 7.3L Ford Powerstroke Diesel. They are installed directly into the onboard computer and are controlled by a provided, adjustable switch, which is mounted to the dash of your truck. They have 6 positions that allow for horsepower setting changes and security features. | Mounting SolutionsProgrammer Mounts seamlessly integrate your monitor into your vehicle's interior. Several styles are available, with the most popular being the A-Pillar Pod and the Dash Mount Pod. These mounts are typically specific to the brand of monitor you own. |
